Vacation in the Keys

We took a vacation with my parents and my sister's family down to Key Largo for a week. We did a lot of snorkeling in the reefs and boating. The snorkeling was absolutely amazing! In addition to the many different kinds of fish we saw, we were able to see a large sting ray, two sea turtles, a shark, and much much more!!!

On the two days that we rented boats, Aaron was our amazing captain. He took us to several reefs for snorkeling, a sand bar for lunch, out to deeper waters for fishing, and through the intracoastal waterways for some view of the mangroves.

Swimming in the pool with Papa.
This was just before our first snorkeling trip of the week. We took a guided tour through John Pennekamp State Parks snorkeling tours.
On our way out to the reef. It was Enzo's first time snorkeling in the ocean. He had been practicing at home for weeks.
After coming back to the house from snorkeling, it was time to snuggle with Grammy.
Enzo and Harrison were playing a bug catching game. I think they caught a big one!
Smile if you're having fun.
We rented boats two of the days. This was the first boating day. Harrison had a fun time. Here he is chilling with his shades on.
Grammy and Papa about to jump in for some snorkeling. My mom is terrified of sharks, so naturally it was one of the first things they saw.

Hanging out. I think he was ready to hop in for a swim.
We dropped anchor at a shallow sand bar for lunch. The water was so clear and beautiful. Harrison liked it because he could touch the bottom when he stood.
My sister and her family at the sand bar. (Check out that water! Beautiful!)
PB&J time!
After lunch, Harrison let the rocking waves put him to sleep. He looked like such a little angel.
Aaron caught this gigantic fish. ha ha! It looks almost as big as the bait he was using. He has never been a lucky fisherman.
After a day of boating fun, we hung out at the house for a bit.
We took another boat out later in the week. Aaron let Enzo drive for a while. He was so proud of himself!
After Ashlee and Harrison got sea sick, we went back to the sand bar to relax, have lunch, and recuperate.
Having fun in the sun.
Papa drove the boat for a bit too.
More boating fun.
While we were there, we decided to take Harrison out for his first ice cream cone. He has had ice cream a few times, but it was always in a cup. This was the first time he had a cone that he could feed himself.
First taste
He loved it!
"Thank you Mommy!"
Big hug!
We finally got a photo of all of us on the last day we were there.
